Ready to go on the diet (almost) and wondering if there would be any complications with low iron? I've been advised by my doc to take an iron supplement. Knowing my body doesn't respond well to iron supplements (constipation and upset stomach) I was wondering how to balance getting my iron stores up? I havent been advised to which iron supplement to take; any suggestions would be great! My book is on its way and I've just got a bottle of fish oil, unfortunately looks like I'll be taking 10 capsules(EPA 180 DHA 120) of those big suckers aday till I can find a better source. I'm truly excited about the book as I have been feeling miserable for a while (tired and fatigue mostly, which could be low iron) and when I realized my labido is really not there anymore I was inspireD when I saw the book! Can't wait to try it! keep you posted and thanks Marrena for all your had work!! faff
I recommend that you don't go to the full dose with that low-grade fish oil, it will give you digestive problems. I tell women to take their time anyhow getting to the full dose, so use that in the interim.
Once you do get a good-quality fish oil and are at the full dose, then start the iron. I think you will find the fish oil will help with constipation issues from iron; it keeps you very regular.
Good to know about the iron. fired up a few more friends today about the diet I think we're in for a book club now its totally awesome. Started taking the fish oil smaller dose to start as recommended. I'm also taking 1.5 mg of Melatonin to help regulate my sleep as I seem to be slightly topsy turvey at present, is there any complication with Melatonin and the diet?
