I am now up to my 5th week of the orgasmic diet, it's working wonders! I just got up to the full fish oil dose about a week ago. I am taking 5 Carlson everyday. However I have been experiencing irregular stomach pains. A few times a week about a half hour after dinner, I get horrible stomach pains. I've never felt anything similar to it. It lasts about 3 hours. The other night I was on the floor in alot of pain (almost went to the hospital). I never had these problems before i started the fish oil. I have read that the only side effects are stomach problems, but I can't imagine it would be only after dinner on SOME nights. Has anyone else experienced any of the same side effects? Or has anyone heard that fish oil can cause stomach aches? Mine only happens after dinner, I'm not sure if it's because some dinners have more grease? I'm trying to rule things out and see what causes it. Let me know if anyone has any ideas! Thanks!!

My goodness! If the pain is that bad, cut back temporarily while you shop around for a different brand of fish oil.

Hi, I had some severe abdominal pain after starting the diet and fish oil. Initially I thought it was the quality of the fish oil, but eventually I ended up in the ER with a diagnosis of diverticulitis. I knew I'd had diverticulosis (the pouches that can develop in the intestine), but never had any infections or symptoms. When I began the Orgasmic diet I eliminated the daily bran cereal thinking that all the other fruits and vegetables would be sufficient. My GI doc thought that had to be the precipitant. Since treating that infection I've had no problems tolerating the fish oil. I'm not suggesting you have diverticulitis certainly, but you may consider the possibility of some other infection. I don't know if the fish oil heightens the pain of something like that, but my gas cramps were severe after taking my dinner dose. Good luck.

Thanks. I'm not sure it's related to the fish oil either. It's high in my abdomen and only happens after I eat dinner on some nights. It's very strange. I'm thinking maybe it's my gallbladder. But I wanted to see if fish oil can cause extreme abdominal pain? Marrena, have you heard of anything similar? I'm hoping to rule out fish oil, but I can't seem to find anything on what I am experiencing. Thanks again!

Stop taking the fish oil! If the pain goes away, it was the fish oil. After a few weeks, try a more refined brand. If the pain comes back, stop altogether.
