Hello I am new here, I just heard about this yesterday on Rachel Ray, I am currently a 30yr. old Mother to 2 kids. My libido is NON-existant, my husband on the other hand is always rearing to go. I am looking forward to getting the book.

My only draw back, being a stay at home mom to a 5 and 6 year old can get pretty tight on the finances, and I would like to know a rough estimate on what the vitamins and fish oil is gonna cost me Total for a month, that is my only problem area, otherwise I'm eager to try this.

The fish oil is expensive, I won't lie. I think krill oil, also called marine oil should work just as well if you get the same EPA and DHA per day, but I don't know enough about it. Krill oil is cheaper than fish oil.

If you weigh around 130 pounds it runs about forty or fifty dollars a month, depending on the brands you use.

A super-cheap way to be on the diet is if you know a hunter. With the oceans as polluted as they are you can't eat fish every day, but you can eat wild game every day.

Thanks for the quick response, that doesn't sound (toooooo) bad, especially if I get the desired results. I range around the 115 lb. mark and currently trying to get back down to my 105-110 lb. mark so maybe that will cut back on the expenses a little bit. I am going in town today and I'm going to try to find your book at a book store in our mall, can't think of the store's name but I know it isn't Barne's and Noble Frowner the sooner I get started on this the better.

Back from town, it was Walden's Bookstore and no they didn't have it, but I did stop at GNC and pick up some fish oil pills. I came home and decided I was g oing to have to be Patient (NOT my strongest point) and ordered the book from Amazon, I did however order it from the clostest seller to me lol. I am anxious to read it and get this all started. I have been reading a lot of the posts on here.

Mad Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!! I am getting so frustrated, not at you Marrena, my dilema is actually good news for you. I have been taking a multi vitamin and minerals vitamin and 1 fish oil pill (GNC triple strength) without any problems for 1 week now........

My problem is I can't seem to get your book to find out what the next step is, I ordered it off Amazon a week ago and found out yesterday that they didn't even send it because it was damaged and didn't tell me till a week later, so I tried to order it from another person yesterday and they were out of stock, and then I called all my local bookstores this morning they are all out of stock, so I just got done purchasing one off of e-bay. GRRRRRRRR I so desperately want to go to the next step and read all your book has to say but it seems that the popularity that Rachel Ray and word of mouth has given your book (Excellent for you) has made this a not so easy task for me. I am 115 pounds and would love it if you could tell me if I should start taking 2 fish oil pills a day now. I'm hoping this E-bay order will get here really fast, I am NOT a patient person lol.

No, I am frustrated. I want people to be able to easily buy my book. I work so hard to get the word out, and then if they can't buy it in their local bookstore or even amazon, it's very frustrating!

You can definitely take two pills a day. Even if they were 100% EPA/DHA you still would be fine.

ok Great, thank you, atleast now I don't feel like I'm wasting as much time waiting for the book to come, I'm sure it will probably be atleast a week again. Ohwell in the mean time I'm reading here and working on my diet. I have noticed that just taking the vitamins and the 1 fish oil if nothing else has lifted my spirits, I was really getting down in the dumps there for a while and I even had a person tell me they have seen the glow in my face return that hasn't been there for a while.

So I am trying to patiently wait again for your book. But I'm trying to use the time waiting getting prepared also so I can have a jump start once I do get to read your book.
Thanks again for sharing this information with us, you are truley changing and helping MANY lives.

I spoke with my editor and amazon should be getting a reprint of my paperback very soon. I also managed to sell out the hardcover! Roll Eyes

Barnes and Noble has the paperback in stock, at

There's also search inside the book there, if you want to learn more before you buy.

Congratulations, Marrena! You richly deserve such success. Not only is your book well researched but it is beautifully written in straightforward language a non-specialist can understand. I love your purple passages too. They keep the reader moving on, but never overbalance the central thrust of your argument. And the personal courage you have displayed in promoting the book by exposing your private life is simply breathtaking. I hope the book goes on to become a world best-seller.

Ok, Marrena PLEASE don't shoot me, I know you are probably tired of this question............

I FINALLY got your book yesterday WHOOHOOOO!!!! (insert major happy dance here) however looking at the chart and my fish oil pills, I need a little help.

I am 5'5" and weigh 115 currently excersicing to get back to my 105-110. Either way I am taking the GNC Triple Strength fish oil in one capsule there is 647mg of EPA and 253mg of DHA,

now if I take 2 pills a day I would be getting a total of 1294mg of EPA and 506mg of DHA, is this the correct amount for my weight, and also the DHA seems pretty low, should I get a seperate DHA pill to pick up the slack? If I took 3 pills a day I would be getting 1941mg of EPA and according to your chart I think that would be too much for my weight, so please help, or maybe I should drop down to the double strength? As you can see I need help. I know you don't like this question and if you would like you could e-mail me your response because I truly believe people need to get your book and not just try to find the answer on the net. I think you deserve all the support you can get.

Thankyou for your help, by the way I am half way through the book and LOVING it so far.

Razzer I swear, multiple times a day I get asked this sort of question!

I'd stick with what you are taking right now, the 1294 mg of EPA and 506 mg of DHA, and just add a Carlson's Super-DHA with the I think it is 500 mg of EPA and 100 mg of DHA.

Marrena I notice you encourage the use of some of the more expensive brands of fish oil because of concerns about purity.

I found this site this identifies by brand name fish oil products and their purity levels. It has a chart show which brands are the best choices for purtiy.

The site is by the enviromental defense fund and has no ties to any manufacturers.

I hope this helps those of us that can't afford the expensive brands.

Here's the link:

http://www.edf.org/page.cfm?tagID=16536

The good news is 80% of the companies say they use molecular distillation and steam deodorization technologies to remove environmental pollutants from their fish oil supplements. These purification processes use a combination of pressure and high temperature to separate pollutants from omega-3 fatty acids.
