I've been frustrated with the diet as for the first couple of months I was feeling a strong libido boost one day, then nothing for a week or so. Very frustrating.

I've seen a kinesiologist/nutritionist and she said I'm not absorbing the fish oil too well.. this is to do with my irritable bowel.

So I read the Omega Zone by Barry Sears and he recommends Omega 3s for gastro-enetrological problems like inflamed gut - at a higher dosage than Marenna's diet. So I've been taking 10g of fish oil a day (which is about 6g of EPA and DHA combined), my bowel problem is slowly improving and I'm definitely seeing a libido increase.

I'm also trying to work alternate days with the Pelvicisor, but also ordered a chrome ball which is also supposed to be good to work the pelvic floor and you can keep it inside while doing other things (which you can't do with the pelvicisor).

So just wanted to update - and let people know not to give up if you don't see immediate benefits.. 20-50% of the population are supposed to have gut problems, so it is likely not just me that has this issue!

Good luck to everyone and keep trying. (it's worth it :-) )

Many thanks, Fruitbat!

That is a very impressive result. I think I shall get Barry Sears' book on your recommendation. I do not know anyone who suffers from gut problems at the moment, but I feel sure the problem will crop up sometime and it will pay to be well prepared. Who would have thought of taking MORE than Marrena recommends!

Fruitbat, may I ask how much you weigh?

I'm too chicken to publicly recommend more than I recommend in my book (although I take more, but I'm a big woman). VERY interesting feedback.

As always, women should check with their doctor, particularly about drug interactions when taking high-dose fish oil.

Thank you too Fruitbat. I have IBS and after a series of pre vacation immunisations have had it so badly that I stopped all fish oils. Now I will go back to taking them and hope the libido comes back too. I probably didnt give the diet long enough by the sound of it. Maybe I dont absorb the fish oil very well. Thanks again.

Bluebird, you wrote, "..after a series of pre vacation immunisations ...)

You may be interested in these websites, which advocate taking a very hard look at vaccination policy.

The US government has conceded that autism was caused by vaccines in at least one case - and that is childhood vaccines in general and not just MMR.

This doctor (physician) contradicted the official proponents of vaccination (the General Medical Council) and, after a long struggle, won in court. In other words she was right and they were wrong. This finding has been amazingly under-reported.

There is money to be made in creating and promoting vaccines, none in opposing them.

Hi Marenna

Only just checked my posting for replies today - been very busy. I weigh 12 stone 6lbs.. about 175lbs. the issue is not so much my weight but absorption. the kinesiologist seemed to think I was absorbing very little of the oil I was taking. so maybe only 10% or 20% of the amount I'm taking - which would fit me into your normal dosage. I don't really notice greasy hair or skin - even at that high dose.. though I did for the first two or three weeks or so.

I think your work is incredibly important as loss of libido is such a dreadful loss for women and I'm sure so many women hit their 40s and just assume it's normal (like I did) and I'm so happyI found your book. It may not be back the way it was in my 30s but I've had 10 years of virtually no libido at all so I'm deeply grateful to have any amount of desire. But I'm also massively invested in finding ways to maximise it, and find out why it may work sometimes and not others.

Will keep investigating and post back if I find out anything else.
