I am sooooo glad to see that someone has actually put some light on what many women go through today with their lack of libido. I for one have been suffering from this lack of libido for over 8 years now and I am 28 yrs old. I have tried everything - I got off my birth control pills for 2 years (no luck). My husband and I tried being more romantic (no luck). I tried the over the counter pill Avlimil (no luck). We even went as far as seeing a Sexologist (still no luck). So, after 8 years of my marriage and 2 wonderful kids I felt as though we (as a couple) have come to an end. I felt so depressed because we truly love each other (if not we wouldn't have made it this far with my problem). But the fact is that sex is a major part of a marriage (our marriage) and without it, the marriage could dissipate very quickly. I really felt that we have done all we could do.
Then, I heard of your book and I felt this great relief inside of me. When I did a little more research on it I felt that this book (this diet) would be the silver lining in my cloud of despair. So I went out the very next day and purchased it. I am now on my 5th day of the diet and I am very excited to see and feel the results that many women in the book, on tv, and in these forums claim to have experience. Although I have yet to see any results, I would like to thank you for creating this book and helping the many women that you have thus far.
Now, considering I have only been on this diet for 5 days I would like to get some clarifications as to the doses I am taking. I am 5'1" and weigh 120lbs and I know your book suggests that I take 1700mg EPA and 1300mg DHA. However, I could not find fish oil that would give the correct amount so I am currently taking 5 pills of the Vitamin Shoppe fish oil which is 1500 EPA and 1000 DHA (EPA 300mg and DHA 200mg each pill). Do you think that is enough to gain the full experience for someone like me? Or should I increase the pills from 5 to 6 giving me 1800mg EPA and 1200mg DHA? I know results vary from person to person but I just wanted to make sure that I am following the diet the best way possible in order to achieve the best results. Also, I have yet to purchase any of the vaginal exercise equipment, would you say that this equipment is an essential part of this diet?
I would gradually build up to the higher dose and stay on it for a month or two and see how your body reacts. Then scale back to the lower dose and see if the results stay the same.
I hope you aren't taking the entire dose already after only five days. I usually give women at least a week to work up to the full dose of fish oil to avoid stomach upset (although I pushed the women on the Rachael Ray show because my time was limited).
The vaginal exercises are not important for libido change but they are important if you want to develop vaginal orgasmic ability. Since it sounds like your primary interest in the diet is libido, you can skip the exercise if you like.
Give the diet a month at the full fish oil dosage to see results. Oftentimes the first sign is erotic dreams.
I love to get feedback, positive and negative, so please post your experiences on the diet!
I just started taking fish oil yesterday, and my stomach was very upset about it. I took only two capsules. Should I start out with only one? And would it help if I take the fish oil with food? The label on my fish oil bottle says to take it 1/2 hour before eating. So, I'm not sure what I should do to help alleviate the stomach issues.
I'm taking Res-Q 1250. They claim to be super refined and purified. I also chose this brand because per one capsule the amount of EPA is 400 and DHA is 300.
I took only one capsule today and it is much better. Slight bit of gas still, though. Is my body just going to need to get used to the fish oil or should I be taking a different brand?
It takes a bit to get used to Fish Oil. Seems some are tougher to take than others. The one from Zonelabs is good, but as Marrena said make sure you take them with food. I recommend only starting with about 1 or 2 per day for awhile until you tolerate it. If taking two you might take each at different meals. Plus if it still bothers you and upsets your stomach you might try adding in some fiber such as Benefiber which I have found allows your stomach to tolerate much more.
I am gearing to start soon, and I wondered how you are liking the Res-Q. with the pills I bought I have to take 12 a day, so trying to find a way to cut back on that.
No complaints here on the Res-Q. It took me about a week for my system to get used to the fish oil, and taking a fiber supplement helped me along. I've had no fishy burps nor noticed any other side effects while taking Res-Q. Since they're so concentrated, you'll be able to really cut down on the number of pills you have to take. And it doesn't hurt that they're not too expensive!
