I think the hormones will act similar to the Pill, but I'm not a doctor, not sure. So the Mirena might increase SHBG, decreasing free testosterone.
St. John's Wort will definitely interfere with the diet. It raises serotonin. Check with your doctor or nutritionist before going off of an antidepressant herbal.
Your fish oil should have the amount of EPA and DHA per serving listed on the label. Go by that and by the EPA and DHA dosages I recommend in the book.

No, because the diet does help to lower SHBG, so it helps to offset the libido-lowering effect of the Pill.
On the other hand, a woman's libido would probably be even greater if she weren't on it. But of course birth control is important and necessary!

As soon as my doc yanked the Mirena, my libido shot through the roof. Then, during my sex-filled craze, I stumbled upon Marrena's board and quickly went on the fish oil regimen. It worked for my first cycle, but unfortunately, I have slowed back down again. I'm waiting for delivery of my book, because surely I am missing something here. Definitely get the copper IUD, you will feel much better! quote: Originally posted by NoKidding: Do hormones such as Mirena or the pill usually prevent the diet from working?
