I have found that after a while a gentle stream wasn't enough for me and I had to increase the pressure of the water to reach climax so I would have to say that yes, it can desensitize you after a while.

I have backed off on that and began using just my fingers again and found it's taken me longer to orgasm that way because I had gotten used to the pressure and the heat of the water , not to mention the constant stimulation. My fingers do get tired!

You are right! Tried it again today - it just wasn't doing it for me. The pressure had to be harder, but I didn't feel that much because after a while it had made my clit numb. I went back later to using my fingers I wont be using it again.
