I've only been on the diet for just over two months but my menstral cramps are the worst they've ever been since I was a teenager. Is this just a coincidence or could it have somethign to do with the effects of the fish oil? I realized yesterday I wasn't taking anything near your recommendations on quantity of fish oil but I was already noticing stronger sensations down below. Perhaps this is a placebo effect but I've tried to stay objective. Should I lower my dosage just before menstration or is this temporary? Also are there any negative effects of fish oil on someone with very low blood pressure and low iron?
My diet recommends that you take iron, so low iron shouldn't be a problem. I have low blood pressure myself. "Very low" blood pressure I'm not sure, I think you should check with a doctor. Anyone with unusual health conditions should check with a doctor or nutritionist before taking high dose fish oil.
The cramps thing is very strange. Typically going on my diet helps cramps. Are you taking the calcium/magnesium/zinc?
I have just begun taking the full dosage of the calcium/mag/zinc pills. I've not had these strong cramps before. Could be just a fluke. By next month I should be on full dosage of everything and I'll see how it is.
I just noticed this month that it is the second in a row (I've been on the fish oil for 2 months) that the day before and day of my period I had a horrible stomach bug. Extreme nausea and could not keep anything down. I thought it was coincidence and hope it doesn't happen again next month!! Perhaps there is a connection!?!
