I was drinking whey shakes for breakfast and feeling very hot and bothered all day, despite also being incredibly nauseated. It was the shakes, my morning protein source. I'm trying Muscle Milk now but it dampens my desire. Soy is likely the cause? I've eaten eggs for breakfast, but I'm not a breakfast person. I have a hard time eating in the morning and prefer to drink something.
Any other ideas? |

What about all those yogurt drinks?

The problem with the pre-made yogurt drinks is that they contain high levels of sugars and lots of other junky stuff.
If you have a few minutes in the morning you can blend your own, they are very easy to make and you can control what goes in it. In a blender mix yogurt, frozen or fresh fruit, a bit of milk (to thin it out), and some honey or natural sweetener. If you can stomach some of the whey product I would add that to increase the protein in your shake. I like to add some spices also- cinnamon, or cardamom, nutmeg, and so on. Blend the living daylights out of it, adding extra milk to thin it to the consistancy you prefer and drink up! The worst part is the mess to clean up afterwards. Let us know if you try it and how you tweak it, okay? Huntng4Os |

I will let you know what I try next. I miss the whey shakes! They were very filling (I was usually not even hungry yet at lunchtime) and full of protein. But after a week of having them for breakfast I was at the point where I was sick all day long after drinking one.
This morning I had an Active Lifestyles yogurt drink. It was fine but not filling. And I need to check the sugar content - good point. |

Maybe taking a Lactaid pill with it would help?
