Hi Marrena,
I am still struggling with increasing the fish oil from one cap a day. I have essentially done it for over 3 weeks and still have alot of GI distress. So I saw my allergist today to see if I might have developed a fish allergy. I do have other allergies and have had chronic hives for almost 30 years. However, I have not had any food allergies. The last time I was tested was 2 1/2 years ago. My hives had been well controlled with medication before the diet and fish oil, but have flared up some along with GI symptoms. I'll have the results Mon. and let you know. In the meantime my allergist wanted me to ask you if anyone else has gotten hives while taking fish oil. I'm also being tested for tree nuts and milk since I'm consuming much more than usual of them and it can be a matter of degree. At any rate I am so frustrated and certainly resonate with others who find it difficult to be patient. I have several friends who are athletes and must carb load before an event. They wanted me to ask you how long it takes after carb loading to regain libido. Pam |

Yes, it might be allergies! Of course, that would explain it. Usually women get GI distress from the non-omega-3 fatty acid parts of fish oil, that's why I recommend a very refined product, but if you are reacting to seafood in general that would cause problems.
Carb loading is no problem. The serotonin effect of the carbs should wear off in six hours or so. Eating a lot of carbs over time with throw off hormonal balance, but if the diet is generally in balance it shouldn't be a problem. |
