Hi, I'm trying to determine which Minami product is appropriate for me. In the book it states an approximate ratio of 1700 EPA to 1300 DHA for 130 lbs. I am 5'5" and 118, so I was thinking about 1500 EPA to 1100 DHA. The only thing I see is called MOR EPA but the ratio is way off. Which Minami product are you referring to? Thanks, Pam
Thanks so much for your quick response. The other issue I have which seems more unusual, is that I have trouble keeping weight on, and so have eaten a high carb diet in the past. In just a few days on the diet I am losing weight. Other than eating larger quanities (which is hard for me), do you have any suggestions of how to tailor it to me?
Wow! This site and your feedback is so satisfying! I mentioned I'm 5'5" and 118, but in just a few days of the diet I'm down to 115. I'm guessing since I'm also usually sensitive to things I should use the amount of fish oil for someone weighing 110. Can you recommend a dose for that weight and height? I plan on getting the Minami today since I seem to get gas/indigestion easily, particulary since I have not had alot of fruits and vegetables in the recent past. I suddenly have realized how hideous my diet has become. Thanks, Pam
Hi Marena, I am a bit confused about proportions. If I'm eating more of the good fats to keep my weight up do I need to increase the other parts of the diet to keep the proportions correct? I'm a milk drinker and wondered if I should be having 2% or whole? I'm having to eat whole wheat bread at each meal, but I'm assuming that's ok as long as I'm eating enough protein and fruits, veggies along with it. Is that right? I don't want to obsess about this, but I do want to do it well enough so it can work. Thanks so much. Pam
Yes of course, it's fine to eat bread at every meal as long as it's in proportion (although if you can, try to skip it in a meal right before sex).
You can eat as much fat as you like on this diet. Not good for the waistline but great for libido, as long as the fats are good fats. It's the protein and carbs you have to keep in proportion.
Hi Marrena, First I want to apologize for consistently misspelling your name! I also want to thank you for your previous response. I've been terribly excited about the program and am feeling very frustrated at the moment because I can't seem to tolerate advancing the fish oil. The first week I was on the Trader Joe's brand and when I advanced it to 2 a day immediately had severe problems with gas and loose stool. So I switched to Minami and did another week on 1 a day. I've been on 2 a day for 3 days and have had progressive gas, loose stool, and this morning diarrhea. Can some people just not tolerate it? Any suggestions? I've been doing all the other aspects of the program and had started to have increased sensation and so really want to proceed. Pam
Really? With Minami! I'm very surprised, that's about as refined as you can get. You are taking it with food, correct?
I guess your system is very sensitive to it! Maybe Kristen's suggestion will help. I have to say I haven't had anyone else have problems with Minami, except when they took too much too fast and didn't spread them out during the day.
Are you taking the two a day one in the morning and one in the evening?
Hi Kristen, Thanks for your response, but I'm very surprised that adding additional fiber could help. Usually you increase fiber to relieve constipation. I used to have Fiber One cereal daily and you have to be careful with that or you get gas etc. Pam
