Hi! I hope someone will have some good news for me. I have ordered the book and started taking the vitamins and fish oil...just waiting on the book to see what else I need to be doing.

My problem is that I've always had what I would call a low sex drive. In June, I took the Depo Provera shot. I'm due for another shot in 2 weeks, but will not be getting it. I've gained almost 13 lbs. (and I'm working out so hard with no luck!) and my low sex drive has gone to zero sex drive. I also have one other strange thing: Since a got on the shot, I almost literally can't feel sex. It's like my body isn't working at all. I did notice that although I still don't desire sex, I did at least feel it the last time, so I have hope.

The point to this long story is that I feel awful and like a completely different person, and I think it's from the depo provera shot. I even just feel mean and angry all the time. I'm just hoping maybe someone will say it's normal and once the shot is out of my system, I'll be me again.

I know obviously that birth control is important, but I really wish doctors would communicate with their patients what the side effect risks are.

I wish doctors would tell us more also! I was horrified once I started having problems and starting reading things about the shot from others. I've heard all the bad stories, but nothing about happy endings, and I was worried that I'd ruined myself by taking that shot.

I've decided that I'm just a better "me" when I'm not on birth control. I can't wait for this poison to be out of my body. Thanks for responding!
