I have just bought the book and am looking into the diet. I am wondering about the amounts of fish oil I should take. I am 5'5" and 113 lbs.
I also eat fish 6 to 7 days a week and frequently twice a day.

Heck, you are already on the diet!

Check with your doctor or nutritionist about eating that much fish, you could get mercury poisoning--that's why I recommend fish oil instead.

But if the fish you are eating is fatty, non-farm-raised fish, you should be getting plenty of omega-3 fatty acids already.

Do you have low libido?

Yes, my lobido is low. I am 57 and on hormone replacement. My lobido picks up when I take my hormone pills each month. When I started the hormone replacement my lobido sky rocketed, but the amount was too strong for other reasons and I was put on a lower dose. At that time my lobido decreased also.

That makes sense. Your neurotransmitter levels are probably fine, but you might need to get your SHBG down lower, to take advantage of the testosterone.

Does your hormone replacement include testosterone?

In your case it will be helpful to take the RDA of calcium/magnesium/zinc and to try to get a good balance of carbs, proteins and fats at every meal, avoiding sugary and starchy carbs. Do not take fish oil if you are eating that much fish.

Thank you, I'll check on the testosterone in the replacement. I pretty much stay away from sugar and starches, one 1/2 slice of bread daily. I'll be sure to increase the calcium/magnesium/zinc. I'll check on the rest to make sure they are balanced.

You are doing everything great, and already very similar to my diet. I would definitely get some bloodwork done if I were you, to see what your total and free testosterone is measuring at.

Also, are you on any medications?

I'll get the testosterone checked. I've been wondering what I could do for awhile. I asked my doctor about getting some extra testosterone months ago. It was just a side topic to my regular visit and she didn't pay much attention to it at that time.

I have two medications, Buspar and Zovirax.

Actually, I have some sugar and coffee in my diet. First thing in the morning I have a cup of coffee with 3 international creamers in it. The International Creamers have 5g of sugar per creamer. It is something I look forward to each day.

Oh, that's tiny, that's fine. And your drugs are fine too, if anything the Buspar should help libido.

It's got to be a hormonal thing. I suppose you could try my diet, but if you do you would have to stop eating so much fish, just to be on the safe side.

Have you read Suzanne Somer's book, The Sexy Years? It's about bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.
