What effect do hormones have on whether women are more easily aroused/orgasmic in the morning or in the evening, especially during peri-menopause? It seems I have an easier time being aroused and achieving orgasm in the mornings, and it feels like there is more to it than whether I am rested or tired. I am 52yo. Thanks.
For both men and women as they age, arousal gets easier in the morning because of daily hormonal fluctuations in testosterone. Testosterone is stronger in the morning.
I tried to find links with studies to show you, but everything I found was either selling hormones or a bodybuilding website.
On this topic, I've either read or heard that the daily testosterone boost comes somewhere around 3am (I'm sure it differs from person to person). But, on several occasions, my husband and I have started fondling each other in our sleep and we end up awake and having sex. We've both been guilty of starting it... although sometimes we debate who was the instigator, lol. And I know I'm definitely a lot hornier some mornings! A lot of times, I'm so tired at night that I'm out like a light almost instantly, unless I'm REALLY horny. So morning just seem better to me for a lot of reasons. I guess if you're going to be late for work, sex is a pretty good reason.... although I wouldn't tell the boss that, haha.
