Hi Marrena,
I've only just come across this book you have written, and I must say I'm very curious. I think I might have to try it - here is my situation, could you please give me some feedback as to whether you have heard from anyone else with a similar situation and success?

I am 26, have 2 kids, both at school now, I have plenty of energy for everything else - except sex. The thing is, I have never really had an interest in it, no libido, even as a teenager I could never work out why all the girls had started behaving the way they did. In short, I've never experienced sexual desire, I've never fantasised sexually (though I've tried to force myself to, generally it goes 'oh, there's a nice person, they are aesthetically pleasing, they obviously have been putting alot of work into keeping in shape... maybe I should think about sex now?... er... ick, no), I've never masturbated or felt the urge to do so, and never realised how important sex actually is to most people until my partner - ex partner now, pointed it out to me. I mean, I can put up with it, and on occasion have enjoyed it, but it just never really struck me as something I would hanker after. I did go to a psychologist because I thought it might be because of depression, but I got over that without drugs and have never been happier/fitter/ more productive.... except still no desire for sex.

as a result my relationship is ending. but neither my partner nor I want to give up before I have tried everything. so... on this site I have seen quite a few cases of people recovering their libido, but have you had anyone to whom it has given a libido when there was none there to begin with?
sorry for the long post - I look forward to reading your reply.

Hi

I just read your post and wondered how your diet was. Are you a vegetarian? Do you eat lots of fish? The western diet isn't very good on Omega 3 content which is why Marenna's diet works so well for so many people. It's unusual to have such a low sex drive, but it happens for both men and women. I'd say try the diet for a couple of months and see how you get on. You've got a relationship to think about so you should be motivated. I think you'd need to follow the whole process - ie taking the fish oil, cutting back on carbs and doing the exercises. But you should start to see some changes in a month. I was reading a book about Omega 3 yesterday and it said that if you eat too much carb and have insulin spikes that can limit the Omega 3 effect. So the general diet has a big effect. If you eat a lot of pasta, rice, wheat, bread then that can also keep your libido down. The Zone Diet gives you all the info to balance your diet so you cut out the excess insulin that comes with eating pure carbs.

Good luck and pls let us know how you get on.

No, I don't think my diet will work for you. Maybe incrementally, but I think what you need to do is get to a good doctor. You have all the typical signs of someone with naturally very low testosterone. I'm pretty sure you need testosterone replacement therapy. You can learn more about it at this site

http://www.fsdinfo.org

The messageboard is dead but it does have lots of info about T treatment. Also

http://www.bermansexualhealth.com

has info on T treatment but it's harder to find.

I think

http://www.twshf.org

has a list of T-friendly doctors in different states.

That said, if you do get TRT, also do my diet at the same time. They work well together; my diet helps keep down the SHBG increase that often happens to women who get TRT.

Greetings!,
You have described my wife to a t. She started the diet last November and it has helped her a lot. Now she has libido where there was none. Her orgasms are much more powerful then before. It didn't make her a nympo by any means but she tells me she enjoys taking the fish oil and likes how she feels now. It's worth a try.
