I've been on the diet about 5 days and although I'm feeling more sensitive and a bit more 'interested' i'm finding it more difficult to reach orgasm. Anyone else had this happen?

I've had men report that, but it was only because they got higher libido from being on the diet and were overindulging on the orgasms. Of course, being men they liked the increased stamina.

But extrapolating from them, have you increased your typical amount per week?

Hi Marrena.. Over indulge - I wish!!!

No same frequency - 2 or 3 days between intercourse.. nothing else has changed... orgasm same as before in intensity it's just harder to get it.

That's a first! Now I feel bad, like I should give you a refund!

I have no idea why that is happening.

One thing that's guaranteed with me.. if 99.9% of the population respond normally, I'm certain to fall into the 0.1% that doesn't!

I'll stick on the diet for a few weeks and report back how I get on. It's fairly easy for me as I just needed to add the supplements in. Maybe this is just a glitch - or there's something else going on that just coincidentally happens at the same time I start the diet.. (unlikely but possible).

Just some thoughts from my own experience...
Maybe because you're expecting the diet to work and anticipating an orgasm, its harder for you to let go and let it happen because you're focused on you and the diet "succeeding". I talk about this more in my post "Kegel burnout"

Definitely feeling more horny... which is nice... unfortunately haven't had the chance for any private time with my husband for nearly 2 weeks!! I've started on the higher dose of fish oil and that seems to have made the difference (I was taking about 1/4)... oh and my period was 26 days this month, after several months of 21 days. I did notice this before (on the Periconne wild salmon three times a day diet) that high Omega 3 improves my menstrual cycle. It's hard to eat salmon 3 times a day though!! pills are much easier.

Well found some private time with husband, but feeling grumpy, uninterested and not at all sensitive. Had a good bang from masturbation and fantasy, but nothing from being with my husband.. :-( I wonder does libido return come first and then sensitivity? I feel like a lump of meat from the neck down at the moment which isn't pleasant.

I've also noticed something rather odd.. My time perception has really changed.. For years I've been wondering where the time goes.. it has seemed to fly by... but the last week or so it feels extended... I get so much more done in a day!!

I also wondered if anyone had noticed a link with high Omega 3 levels and increased intuition. I just realised my intuition/sensitivity disappeared about the same time as my libido.

Does anyone who has increased their sensitivity to orgasm, noticed an accompanying sensitivity to their environment and people around them??

Thanks for reading.

On the contrary, I feel tired and so much less motivated than I thought I would. Granted, my personal life is a bit exhausting at times but I really thought I'd feel a 'pick me up'!?! My experience with this diet goes in waves....there are days at a time that I feel very sexual, high libido and very sensitive to touch. Other times, I just feel the same as I did before. I don't get it!?!?

I think because the effects of the diet, particularly the neurotransmitter effects, are also at the mercy of other things that influence neurotransmitters, including stress. And of course women have hormonal fluctuations through the month.

But even men aren't sex machines! It's normal to have fluctuations in libido, although on the diet you should notice a definite improvement looking over a month's libido than how you felt previously. Even I have my down days, like right after ovulation when my libido is "normal."

I also have noticed a definite increase in intuition, being on this diet now for eight years. I don't like to talk too much about it, but I have heard from a few dozen people, both men and women, in various religious mystical disciplines (although not celibate) go on the diet with improvements in abilities.

I have been on the diet for about 2 months now, the last 4 weeks off of my anti deppressant (celexa). I am pretty disappointed. Prior to the diet, I always had very intense/easy clitoral orgasms (but of course the celexa made them much harder to achieve). Now that I'm off the celexa and on the diet, I can have 7 or 8 orgasms in a 10 minute span, but they are so boring, so not intense. The reason I know I can have so many is because I keep trying to see if I can have one with any intensity, but I can't. I ejaculate too (have for years) and that can still happen, but not as easily and also with out the intensity I used to have. I haven't noticed an increase in desire or energy-I did in the beginning for a week or so, while I was still on the celexa, but that is gone. I also don't think the fish oil is working great for my depression so I'm starting cymbalta tomorrow (doesn't have sexual side effects). I'm 5'10'' and 170 pounds. Taking 2700 mg EPA and 1900 DHA (Sealogix plus 2 pills of morDHA per day). I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Hi Lila

Like you I'm rather frustrated. The first couple of weeks I definitely felt more desire - even though I was taking too low a dose (1/4 of what I thought I was taking). When I upped the dose of DHA I had one day feeling really warm, cuddly, happy... but since then the feelings haven't been there. Also the first month my period went up to 27 days - first good cycle in a long time, but the second month it was back to 20 days. So I think I've been taking it for about 6 weeks now. I have chronic gut problems and wonder if it's all being used up with the inflammation in my gut. THere are massive benefits to taking Omega 3s at these doses, I just wonder if your body needs them for repair if libido will resolve over time once whatever damage in your body is sorted out? I did ask Marenna in another posting if there was anyone who had taken the pills long term and seen benefits after a few months. Maybe people who don't get results quickly just give up.

I'm planning on continuing with it anyway. I've had blood tests and my cholesterol levels are higher than they should be. I'll test again in 4 months or so. Libido is always going to be the last thing to recover if you are sick. Libido is tied in with fertility and your body will put repair above reproduction.

Fruitbat, yes, keep taking it. You did have a response. Women are cyclical and the improvement should increase over time.

Lila, I think you may have gone off your antidepressant too fast. When the body is used to having very high serotonin levels all the time, it's hard if an antidepressant is abruptly stopped without giving the body time to adjust. Generally women who have gone off antidepressants while being on my diet have slowly decreased the dosage over a period of some months. Not that I'm telling your doctor her business, that's just what I've observed in the past. So I think perhaps going back on an antidepressant, particularly if it's a low dose will be a good transition for you. But I encourage you to have the long-range goal of not being on them, if possible. Daily 45-minute walks at a moderate pace in the sunlight can also help.
