Hi Marrena,

I'm finally writing. I've been on the diet for six weeks tomorrow (August 6). I've been EXTREMELY faithful with the supplements and food intake. I haven't seen much improvement in my libido, but that's a post for another time.

I've taken the fish oil from Costco, then Carlson, now back to a new brand of Costco that reads:

Kirkland Signature Enteric Coated Fish Oil Omega 3, with the words New Advanced Formula on the left.

Unfortunately, the Costco fish oils are no longer breaking out the DHA and EPA on the label. It will say 684 mg total omega-3 fatty acids but not break it out.

I called the Kirkland vitamin infoline, and they told me that the breakouts for one softgel are:

274 mg DHA
410 mg EPA

I wanted to post this in case anyone else was looking for an economic brand of fish oil and needed to know how much to take. I thought Costco's Kirkland Signature line was only available exclusively at Costco, but if you google it, it's available on Amazon and elsewhere. You can also read many positive reviews there.

Hi Colette,

I searched for like half an hour for that EPA/DHA information but with no luck. But now I know and I might try it when I'm through the fish oil I ordered instead.

How are the Kirkland 684mg fish oil softgels working for you?

Well of course this is what I'm interested in hearing about, although of course fish oil brand info is always useful. If you do feel like posting feedback, I'm all ears, always very curious about the women who don't see results.

I'm sorry I haven't replied, I wanted to get my vitamin bottles lined up. Smiler

So as I said, I've been very faithful to the diet as described in your book. I weigh 160 pounds, so with the first Costco fish oils, I had to take 13 a day. I took eight of the Carlson fish oil. And of course, since I've published the DHA and EPA of the new Costco brand, I believe that works out for me to be taking six a day.

I take 27 mg of iron T/Th/Sun. Daily, I also take 500 mg of Vitamin C, 100 mg of Calcium (Citracal), 50 mg of zinc, 400 mg of magnesium and 1 One a Day Weight Smart (hey, it can't hurt). I take one Dove Promises dark chocolate and .6 oz of Trader Joe's 71% dark chocolate.

I bought the Gyneflex, and I'm up to #5.

I changed my diet, and started eating eggs in the morning, or yogurt, or Ezekiel 4:9 cereal since it has as much protein as a glass of milk. I minimized my carbs, like rice, avoided potatoes like the plague, completely went off soy and caffeine (I am on Decaf Folgers) and make sure to add protein to any carb-only snacks.

A few times, I felt like I had that achey/pulling feeling in my loins that others have described, but nothing that makes me want to ravage my spouse. My libido was highest in the summer/fall of 2000 (I'd gone off the pill), and what I feel now is not similar.

My horniness is almost always associated with a full bladder. Has anyone else had that situation?

I have clitoral orgasms easily (multiples with a full bladder) but have never had a vaginal orgasm.

But I really believe you, Marrena, so as I said I'm not giving up. I went to the doctor Wednesday with the bibliography from your book, as you'd suggested, and the forum post from fsd.org about what kind of bloodwork to get. My doctor was AWESOME!! She took like 30 minutes to study the forum post and order the bloodwork so that it exactly matches what you list in your book -- Estradiol, Prolactin, etc.

I'm sad that it might be a permanent depletion of testosterone (I had a child six years ago, and the hormonal adjustments were so extreme that I developed a severe allergy to alcohol). I really wanted the diet to work and hope that somehow, it still can.

So that's my feedback. Of all the things I'm doing, does anything seem off-kilter?

I forgot to answer Hollie's question. I love the Costco fish oil. They even smell good! Any fishy burps are very, very minimal. No serious digestive issues to speak of.

Yes, I have that situation all the time. Once I go...so does the desire.
