Hello, I'm new to this site and feel hopeful that this may help me in some way. I am 28 and have been married for 5 years. We have a 2 year old son. When things started between us we were crazy. After about a year things slowed down for me significantly and have never changed. I've tried lots of things and my husband is so patient and understanding. He has a very high sex drive and I have a negative sex drive. I never want to. He definitely does his part to satisfy me when we do have sex, but the desire for me isn't there and this definitely puts a damper on his pleasure. I'm not sure why my sex drive is so low considering how high it was when he and I first met 10 years ago. My lack of interest is hurting my marriage and I really want things to stay happy and good. We are happy aside from this issue. I'm waiting for my copy of the book to arrive (hopefully in the next couple of days). I take a fish oil supplement anyway and noticed that that was a major point for a lot of people. I currently take a dosage of 1720 epa and 1160 dha. I am 5'4" and 148 pounds. Do I need a separate supplement to adjust the dosage? I am hoping to get this started now and then I can add in the additional stuff when I get the details from the book. Marrena, thanks so much for putting this information out there! This could be the key to saving our marriage!
That's about what I recommend for fish oil for someone your weight. Are you sure you are taking that much? If so, it's pretty unusual.
Also, I hate to say this but if you've been taking that dose for a while and still have low libido, I'm not sure my diet will help you. You might have low testosterone, that happens sometimes with the hormonal changes of pregnancy and birth. My book has information on getting your hormone levels tested.
You're right. I read the label wrong. I'm taking 860 mg of EPA and 580 mg of DHA. I thought that the label was for one tablet and I take two. I'll try doubling the dosage and that will be the original figures that I quoted you.
I'll definitely be interested in finding out more about low testosterone. Are there other symptoms that I would notice besides the low libido?
The low libido has been with me for quite some time...probably about 9 years.
