Hi,

I just ordered the book today. I wanted to go ahead and start taking the fish oil now. I usually take 1 capsule of 1,000mg (180mg EPA and 120mg DHA)I am 5 feet tall and weigh 95 lbs, I have no clue how much I should be taking, maybe 6 a day???
Also, I am now on birth control (I know the results wont be as good so I am considering going off the pill) and since the birth of my first child 1.5 years ago, I am still having what I have been told by my doctor is mental issues with pain during sex. (All is good and we know it is not a physical problem.) Essentially, we can have sex but to start it is pretty rough and my drive is at 0 because it just takes so much effort and drama to get past the pain to the pleasure. Have any of you used the diet to aid in a problem like this? I am really hoping the increased drive will help me to get pass this issue. Thanks in advance.

Generally my diet doesn't help with physical pain during sex. You need to see a doctor if there is a physical issue causing pain.

I'm confused that your doctor said your pain is mental. If that is in fact the case, which seems very odd to me, then yes of course the diet will help, because it makes a woman's mind very pro-sexual.

Start taking the fish oil dose recommended on the bottle. I always recommend women start off slowly in taking the fish oil, gradually increasing the dose over the course of a couple weeks to the full amount. Do try to get a brand with EPA + DHA > 500 mg per one one-gram capsule (check serving size).

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I had a very long labor with many complications and a long recovery. Physically, other than a small amount of scar tissue, I am fine now. My Dr. believes I am dealing with a problem called Vaginismus, it is a spasm of the vaginal muscles, caused mainly by fear of being hurt. Essentially, I just tense up and at this point as I said before we can have sex and after a awhile it no longer hurts. We just have to go slow and luckily my husband has been very supportive and patient. As I said in my last post my drive is very low and obviously this whole thing does not help matters, I am really hoping that if I am more excited, it will allow me to relax and the more we practice the better our chances are that this will go away. And my Dr. assures me that over time, this should be the case. At this point I will try anything!

As to the fish oil, the one I have now calls for 2 tabs a day. (I plan on buying more, just wanted to finish the bottle.) But I am still not sure what would be the recommended does for my height and weight as I am very petite.

Go to the messageboard and do a search on vaginismus. That's more than just a mental issue, and there are specific physical things you can do to improve.
