Hi, I don't understand how to know whether I'm following the 40%carb/30%protein/30%fat that you suggest. I do eat a good amount of protein at each meal and try to avoid large amounts of starchy carbs. The 30% fat - do I count fat grams? 30% of my plate isn't fat. I'm used to counting grams of fiber and protein. How do you do it?
It's approximate, the food part is the least of my program. Sounds like you are doing the right thing. The important thing is to eat the right kind of fat--avoid transfats and polyunsaturated vegetable oils like soybean and corn oil. Other fats are fine.
