Oh come on. My book is eleven dollars on amazon. You can't afford eleven dollars?
It's a matter of respect--my time is worth something. I mean, I only make fifty cents a book, but my publicity run is over and I am now depending on word of mouth and popularity for the book to sell itself. For example, books on the NY Times top twenty get prominent placement in bookstores, up by the front of the store. It doesn't take all that many books sold in a week to make it there. I very much want to get the word out to women! But anyhow, it doesn't matter. If you can't afford eleven dollars to buy my book, you can't afford my diet either. At your weight the fish oil would run about seventy dollars a month or more. And poor people can't even afford the foods like fish and free-range meat that would replace the fish oil. Your best bet would be to make friends with a hunter and eat as much venison and wild game as you can (the rivers and oceans are too polluted to safely live on fish). |

Damn, maybe the fish oil isn't working for you this morning. I didn't say I wasn't ever going to get the book just not at this time. I think a new furnace comes before me... what do you think???? btw I do have hunters in my family just I don't care for meat all that much. Thanks for your time

I support Marrena 100% in this - she did an amazing amount of work, and the women who found out about the diet before the book came out also had to work, spending a lot of time and energy, to find out about the diet. Now all that information is available for $11 on Amazon.
OR You could request that your local library get a copy. Then, after you are done with it it would be available to other women in your community. OR You could spend some time and energy and find the thread on the Sexual Health Boards where Marrena generously left the basics of the diet up, along with extensive discussion from people who have tried the diet. Instead, since word of the book got out I see a lot of people coming to this forum who have "read a lot about the diet" and want Marrena to give them a personalized fish oil dosage, and oh, they'll get around to buying the book.... someday. They'll give $70+ a month to the companies that make the fish oil - and zip to the woman who found out about what it does for women???? That is a lack of respect, and rank ingratitude. Thank you. I get a lot of e-mails like that too.
I'm happy to answer questions that the book doesn't answer, of course. And it's not like I'm trying to keep the information top secret. I've posted the diet all over the Internet in the past several years, encouraging women to try it. But it's precisely because I've answered the same questions eight hundred times that I wanted them in a book, so I'd be done with all that. Heck, the British version of my book has the Search Inside on British amazon. Thank you for everything, Calico. |

LOL....
Marrena, after having thoroughly been amused by the above exchange of posts, I do need to ask if I'm taking enough fish oil. And if I'm not taking a quality fish oil. I'm 5'1", and weigh about 155 lbs. I purchased a big bottle of NatureMade Omega-3 1200mg caps from Amazon the same time I bought your book. I have been taking 6 caps a day. What do you think? Thank you! |

The following post is assuming you are taking this brand:
http://www.amazon.com/Nature-Made-Fish-Omega-3-Softgels...id=1200183464&sr=8-1 That's one of those brands that's very tricky with the label. The serving size is TWO capsules. So each capsule only has 216 mg of EPA and 144 mg of DHA. That's a low-grade fish oil and will probably cause stomach upset at the large doses I recommend, although it's fine for gradually getting your system used to fish oil, ramping up the dosage. So you are only getting approximately 1300 mg of EPA and 900 mg of DHA. That's not enough at your weight to be on my diet. If I were you I would finish off the bottle and get a better grade for the next bottle--easier on the tummy and less pills to take. Wait to make a judgment on the diet until you have been at the full dosage for a month. And let me know how it goes! |

Okay...I just looked at the bottle more closely (AND with my glasses on...LOL) and I see what you mean. I didn't notice the serving size of 2 caps = 432/288 EPA/DHA. So, I looked up Carlson's online...do I have it correctly that ONE Carlson cap = 300/200 EPA/DHA, so I would need 6 caps per day for my weight? (1800/1200) Just want to clarify this with you before I go purchase the Carlson fish oil...I loaned my book to someone, so I couldn't refer back to the book. Thanks!! Oh, and in reference to my other post about the arthritic pain in my hands flaring up...I'm not allergic to seafood. Maybe my body is telling me I need the higher grade fish oil??!! LOL Thanks again!

Carlson's makes different brands. Check the label. If the amounts you listed are correct then six would be fine, although at your weight you could go with seven. See how your body does.

Thanks for replying...I was looking at the Carlson Super Omega 3 fish oil, 1000mg, that lists Epa 300mg, Dha 200mg, and Omega 3 fatty acids 500mg for each softgel cap. The Vitamin Shoppe has a 250 count bottle on sale for $29.99 right now (in case this helps others).

Hello:
Vitadigest has these on sale also. $15.50 for 130 caps. Which is about the same. But the more you order the more of a discount plus they sell a dosage of carlson that is higher in dha so that you can do the mood manipulation thing. I ordered two of the super omega 3 and 1 of the super Dha. Their shipping is very fast. They are in S. Cal and so am I, but I ordered early Monday morning and they delivered tuesday morning. |
