I'm going onto my 4th week of the fish oil pills, so far I haven't felt anything sexual yet, however the past few weeks I've felt very depressed. Do you think it's possible the fish oil could actually worsen depression? I know it sounds weird, it's supposed to do the opposite.
No, the fish oil should definitely not worsen depression.
I figured out the issue. I found these online
"Siberian Ginseng improves the balance of important neurotransmitters in the brain. In studies using laboratory animals, Siberian ginseng has been shown to act as an MAO inhibitor. In people with depression, the herb helps improve their sense of well-being."
" For the treatment of depression extracts of rhodiola, namely rosavin and salidroside, in animal studies seem to enhance the transport of serotonin precursors, tryptophan, and 5-hydroxytryptophan into the brain. "
Those are two of the herbals in that Hot Plants product you were taking. It was a natural antidepressant, your body got used to the higher serotonin, and then you stopped it, triggering depression. An educated guess. That means that Hot Plants product probably also interfered with the diet if it was raising serotonin.
Oh strange!! I wonder if that's why. Thank you for looking into this No I haven't been at the full dose this whole time, I think I've been at the full dose for 2 weeks about? By the way does this sound like an ok amount, I'm 5'2 115lbs: I take 5 pills which is EPA 1800 + DHA 1200. Should I raise it to 6 or would that be too much?
