I just wanted to say that your mention of the possible connection between low BP and difficulty in achieving clitoral orgasm was very helpful to me.
I'm finally seeing a sex therapist, who is taking my concerns very seriously. On of her first suggestions was to get a home BP monitor and track my BP several times a day, so when I got to my MD I can show her the results, instead of relying on one in-office BP reading. I'm averaging 102/60, with a lot of the first thing in the morning ones in the low 90's/mid 50's range. Before the 1940''s chronic (or constitutional) hypotension was a recognized cause for medical concern, and I've discovered it still is in Germany. In Great Britain and North America it has simply been forgotten with the overwhelming problem of high blood pressure. Plus (putting on my cynical hat) something that affects quality-of-life primarily in women under 40 is simply not going to get the attention of something that affects mortality in the general population. Still, as far as my quality-of-life goes, this is really important! Forget not that the earth delights in your bare feet and the winds want to play with your hair. ~Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931) |

If so, don't be afraid of salt and do drink electrolye solution. I recomend unflavored Pedialyte; it's not as sugary as Gatorade and other sports drinks. You might notice a considerable difference. I have the same thing.

Hello:
I'm new here. I am just getting into the book and loving it. I already follow Atkins and just so happened that I picked up weight training a month ago, so I was pleased to read that this will help increase testosterone levels. I also had noticed that there is a corelation between low blood pressure and low sexual sensations. How low is everyone else's pressure. Last time I checked mine was 102/58. Thanks |

I'm not sure what mine is, but it is unusually low. In general that's a good thing, healthwise, but particularly for clitoral orgasms it makes it hard to have one.

Last year I borrowed a friend's BP monitor and took mine several times a day for about a month. My morning BP got as low as 88/42, my afternoon readings were around 101/59.

I finally did it!!! I was able to bring myself to a clitoral orgasm manually, no vibrator!!! At 37 this is only the third time I've ever been able to do that, and the other two times a) I was much younger and b) it took so long it wasn't fun anymore by the end. This time I followed Marrena's advice, locked away my "old faithful" Whal vibrator found erotica to read, and waited (and waited) for the orgasmic pressure to build up. When it did finally happen it was great! Apart from the pleasure, I now have confidence that I am capable of doing this, that everything DOES work, and, as much fun as sex toys are, that I won't be dependent on them forever. Thank you Marrena. Thank you SO MUCH. Forget not that the earth delights in your bare feet and the winds want to play with your hair. ~Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931) |

YAY! I know it's a pain in the ass to do, but it's so worth it knowing you have options!
